"The Hunger Games"

So...this is about all my son has been talking about for the past few months. He keeps telling me that I should really read this series "The Hunger Games".

Thomas is really into sci-fi stuff...and way out there kind of fiction stuff...so I didn't think I would really like it. I don't usually like the same stuff he does. He kept insisting that I at least try it...so I finally did a few night ago.

I am only 3-4 chapters in....and I really like it. It helps that Thomas has kind of filled me in on the basics...but overall...so far it's easy to follow...and keeps you wanting more:-) I really like that in a book.

It's a series of 3 books...and I am not a very fast reader...but I will let you know what I think of it once I am done with all three books.

Synopsis

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before-and survival.
