Weekly Goals 6/27/11

I am going back to setting weekly goals...It's along the same lines as the 30 day challenge...but this is ongoing...not just 30 days:-)

I am on a roll so far!! Last week I made my goal of working out at least 3 times!! WHOOO HOOO! I am working on eating better all of the time...and only having one day of "free" eating a week.

These are my goals for t his week!

1. Workout at least 3 times
2. Portion Control!
4. Plenty of sleep
5. Finish Thomas's room!
6. Finish book
7. Work on a scrap page
8. Keep up the laundry
9. Get up earlier...and go to bed earlier
10. Think positive even in negative situations:-) It's all the way you make it!

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives: Jamaica Gates Caribbean Cuisine

Have you ever seen this show? I LOVE IT!!! I am going to try as many places that he goes to as I possible can. What fun!!!

Today my friend Stacey and I tried out a Jamaican place in Arlington TX that was on his show. We went all authentic...starting with a jamaican lemonade, then having jerk chicken, jerk pork, ox tail and rice and veggies. Yes, I said ox tail. It was pretty good too...once you got past the fact that it was an ox Stacey touched it and felt the tail bone and freaked out...then I dropped it and couldn't get it back up off the We had fun.

The Jerk chicken and pork were really good! Oh and the lemonade was delicious! It's made with limes, brown sugar and water...and is really tasty! Then we had rum cake for dessert...YUM!!!

Day 24 of 30 Day Challenge

Today was another pretty good day! I didn't work out...but will be going tomorrow morning!!

Breakfast: 2 eggs and 1 piece of toast
Snack: none
Lunch: Fuzzy Tacos - 2 soft corn tacos (1 veggie and one pork) with black beans and rice
snack: 1 bit of a brownie, 1 cheese tortilla, 1 FPS Drink (healthy energy drink)
Supper: Pork chop, rice, carrots and a salad

Day 23 - 30 Day Challenge

Today was another good day!! I am on a roll!!!

I made it to Yoga this evening and it was an awesome class...she kicked my butt!!!

Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs (with a little cheddar cheese) and 1 piece of toast buttered
Morning Snack - apple
Lunch - Chili spaghetti
Afternoon snack - bite of brenden's brownie:-) slice of cheese/salami
Supper - Grilled pizza with a salad

If I keep this up I will actually FINALLY start seeing some changes:-)

Day 22 - 30 Day Challenge

Ok today was a great day!!!! If I coudl have more days like this I would be good to go! I wasn't able to workout...but that's ok...I can't workout every day. I ate good...watched my portions....and drank lots of water:-)

Breakfast: honey nut cheerios
Morning Snack: strawberries/yogurt
Lunch: 2 tortillas with cheddar cheese
Afternoon snack: 1/2 peanut butter sandwich
Supper: 1/2 sloppy joe, corn, back eyed peas and a salad

Day 20-21 - 30 Day Challenge

The last two days have been pretty good. I FINALLY went back to Yoga and it felt great!! I have gained some weight though since I haven't been working out for a while:-( I am at 166....dang it! I am going to start my last week of this 30 Day challenge with a bang and see what progress I can make in one week! I have to get this weight off...I MUST!!!

Can't make Yoga tonight...but I HAVE to workout.

Another struggle I am having is my portion control....if it's in front of me...I will eat it. I have to watch my portion control!

I can do this and I will do this:-)

Brenden's first year at Camp La Junta

Wow! I can't believe Brenden went to Camp La Junta this year. I am so glad we decided to send him. It takes away from the time Joel has him in the summer...but it's worth it! He had a BLAST and wants to go back next year. Thomas has been going to this camp for 8 years and LOVES it! We knew Brenden would too!! What great memories Brenden will have for years to come from summer camp:-) It's priceless really. I wish I could have gone to summer camp when I was a kid!!!

Brenden's camp was for 2 weeks this year...and Thomas's camp is for 4 weeks. So when we went to get Brenden yesterday I got to see Thomas! Too cool! I have NEVER seen him during the 4 weeks at camp. It was AWESOME to see him!!!

Day 14-19 - 30 Day Challenge

The past few days haven't been great:-( Yesterday was the worst by far....We drove down to get Brenden and I didn't eat good at all:-( I haven't worked out:-( My weight is still steady around 160...but it won't be for long if I don't get my butt into gear! I plan to workout today...and really pay attention to what I eat.

On a good note...I have been really good at drinking lots of water every day....getting plenty of sleep...and snacking healthy/watching portion control...on all days except yesterday...I guess we can make yesterday my free day for the week.

I will keep on truckin' and hope that my posts become more positive soon!! I can do this!

Day 13 - 30 Day Challenge

Today was a great start to the week. I wasn't perfect...but it was pretty close:-) It's almost 10....and I just ate I am not sure that I will make my workout tonight....but I did good throughout the day:-)

Breakfast: coffee (black), banana
Lunch: Turkey wrap with mustard only, handful of fritos...and 1/2 coke zero
Snack: Cheerios
Snack: Apple
Dinner: Chinese (not a huge portion though)
Drank lots of water too!!

Day 12 - 30 Day Challenge I had 2 free days....or in other words a whole free weekend and I enjoyed every second of it. I did do some work in the yard....drank lots of water...and sweat...a lot. So, it wasn't all bad....

This week is a new week and I am focused and ready to get back on track!

Haley has practice I can't make Yoga...but I will either jog/walk or do my at home work out. I am going to eat good...and drink LOTS of water:-)

Supper tonight will be tacos....but I will make mine a taco salad with more lettuce then anything:-)

I have been wanting to do this page forever...but wasn't sure how I wanted it. Today....I sat down and did it. I love how it turned out. Very simple....and pretty:-) It's such and awesome feeling to be an Aunt. I love her so much!! I can't wait to watch her grow up to be a beautiful woman!!!

It's the simple things in life that mean so much:-)

Last night I was sitting out front in my driveway with both of my dogs watching to sprinklers run. Yes, I know this is a sign of my age...but that's ok. Bella and Singer like to come out front in the evening after everyone is in for the night. We don't put them on a leash and they run like crazy...having a blast! It's beautiful to watch:-) They can play and don't have to be tugged around on their leashes. They mind very well and stay close to the house....once it's time to go in they run in and go straight to their treat jars for being such good boys and girls! I love sitting out front with them and playing. The sprinklers were running last night and I am not sure why...but watching sprinklers run is so relaxing. It smells good too. Am I crazy?? Ah...who cares. Like I's the simple things in life that mean so much:-) That's about as simple as it gets and I look forward to doing every night.

My life hasn't always been this simple...and at that time I didn't realize what I was missing. I always thought there had to be something going on...boy was I wrong! Simple is good!

It's been a wonderful week! I am a very blessed woman and am enjoying every second of my life!

Day 11 - 30 Day Challenge

Today is my FREE day! Haley is having a pool party/sleep over and I am going to enjoy it with her!!!

Day 8-10 - 30 Day Challenge

I have seen a little progress in the eating department...but still won't get my butt out to workout...ugh! I am eating good...drinking lots of water...and getting plenty of sleep. That will still make a difference...but I really need to get back into Yoga. Hangin' in there!

Day 6&7 - WEEK ONE - 30 Day Challenge

I am sucking.....bad! My eating has been ok....but I haven't been able to find the time to workout as much as I would like. I must make the time.....we are all busy....but I need to be busy working out an hour a day. It really shouldn't be this hard! I am just making excuses...that's all!

My weight today was 160...I have gained a few pounds....:-(

Going to keep pushing onto another week...let's see what happens!!!

La Junta - June 7th

Looks like the boys are having a good time. It's great to see Brenden smiling. This is the first time he has been away from his Mom this I know he was nervous! This will be Thomas's last year as a I hope he enjoys it!!! Can't wait to see more picks! I live for these pictures this month!!!

La Junta - June 6th 2011

Camp La Junta 2011

This will be Thomas's 8th year at summer camp and Brenden's first. I hope Brenden loves it as much as Thomas does!!! This was the morning they left for camp...still a little tired from staying up the night before...all night! The bus ride down to camp is about 5 hours. Thomas will be staying for a month...and Brenden for 2 weeks. I can't wait to see pics of them!!!

Day 4-5 - 30 Day Challenge

I am doing ok...hanging in there...not 100% where I want to be...but getting close. I worked out today!!! I am really watching what I eat...and if I want to eat something bad...I just don't eat a lot of it!! Looking forward to getting back into Yoga this week. That will help me a lot! I need it for a stress relief and to help my back if nothing else!! Now that the kids are at camp and things have settled a little bit it should be easier for me to get to Yoga at least 3-4 times this week!

Day 1 & 2 - 30 Day Challenge (round 3)

Third times a charm right?? Ok...I am starting out at 159 this 30 days. I have been stuck right at that weight for a while...and I REALLY want to be 140...or close to it! Let's see what I can do this month!! My husband starts working outside again and has already dropped 20 pounds...pisses me off to be quite honest...UGH!

Day 1 - Did good with eating...vitamins...water and portion control...but didn't work out.


Breakfast: A cup of coffee
Snack: nothing
Lunch: Grilled chicken salad-strawberries-water
snack: 6 pringles
evening snack: 4 oreos/milk (BAD GIRL)
Supper: Poor mans meal...mac-n-cheese

My snacking and supper wasn't very good for me...but I did watch my portion control with supper:-) Also, I MUST eat breakfast...I can't skip meals....bad news!!!

Final days - 30 Day Challenge FINAL

Ugh...another 30 days down...and not much change:-( I am the same weight. I am going to try again! I like the 30 day challenge...I just would like it more if I would work harder at it...and see some results. Lets see what the next 30 days bring. Maybe it being summer will push me a little:-)

Free Sample - Alternavites

So...I got a free sample of these Alternavites...and thought I would try it out. I am not sure about you...but my multivitamin makes me gag it's so if I could take something like this and it tasted good...I would do it. You? This is what I think of them:-)

The Good: They taste good....and you don't have to swallow a pill.

The Bad: There is way too much to put in your mouth at will end up blowing powder out your nose! LOL. I took it over 10 minutes ago and I still taste doesn't taste bad...but it lingers in your mouth for a while.

Bottom line: If you CAN'T swallow pills at all then this would be perfect....they aren't that bad....but I will stick to the pill form. It's quicker and doesn't leave an aftertaste in my mouth:-)
