NOT Smoking - again:-)

So...this time around I have had different thoughts about not smoking. I have been trying to figure out why it's been such a challenge for me to quit in the past...and what is going to make it any less challenging this time around? I have learned that smoking was more then just an addiction for me. It was part of my life and has been for YEARS!!! I don't like change.....by not smoking I am creating a HUGE change in my life...and I have a really hard time with that....more so then the actual addiction to nicotine. It was a nice break through for me to realize that. So......maybe this time I will work harder on accepting this change in my life rather then "fight" the addiction. I HATE smoking more then most smokers do...I mean I really hate it...I hate the way it smells...tastes...makes you feel...costs....EVERYTHING about it. So...why didn't I quit successfully a long time ago??? Ugh....I could ask why for many things in my life...he he...and never get the answer. I do know that every day....when the routine of my life calls for smoking...I try to do something different to replace the smoking habit and make that a new part of mt daily life. It kind of sucks right now because I am not use to it....but it won't be long until that is just part of my daily routine...just like smoking was. I have added exercise back into my routine...not only is it good for me...but it's a GREAT replacement for smoking.....I feel awesome after a good workout...and the last thing on my mind is smoking. I am setting myself weekly goals that, if completed properly, will take more of my time during the week. I have to keep myself busy. I have been a LOT more productive around the house...and at work since quitting:-) I know that at any moment I could pick a cigg up and be right back where I was a few weeks ago. This time around....when I think of smoking or am around it....I take a minute to really think about why I don't want to smoke even just ONE cigg....and it doesn't take me long to convince myself that it's the right decision.

Soooo...long story short...I am doing really well this time around...and I am very confident. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want this to be the last time I quit smoking:-)

Power Thought for the day:-)

It is safe to look within:

As I move through the layers of other peoples opinions and beliefs, I see within myself a magnificent being, wise and beautiful, I love what I see in me.

Thomas is HOME!!!! Merry Christmas T-Man!!!

So....Thomas was with his Nana in Utah over the 2 week holiday break. I have missed him like crazy and he FINALLY came home tonight:-) Joel and I decided to surprise him with something we both knew he really wanted for X-Mas but didn't think we would get it for him. He has been asking for a TV in his room for FOREVER!!! I don't think kids should have TV's in there rooms because there is crap on regular cable no a days that is just NOT good for kids to watch. So....Joel and I came up with a plan. We will get him a TV for him room...re-do the whole room...make it look a little more "teenager" and just NOT hook the cable up. He can only watch movies....at least this way I know what he is watching. Oh...and he CAN'T hook any video game crap up in his room either. So....Joel and I worked on his room while he was gone...and when he walked in his room tonight the look on his face was priceless. He was SHOCKED!!! His first question was...does it have cable...I had to tell him know...but that he got a new DVD player too and a bunch of his favorite movies for X-Mas ...so he still thought it was pretty cool. I wish I had some before pics of his room....so you could really see the big change...but let me just tell you. It looks SOOOOO much better then it did. His room is not big at ALL so we had to work with what we have...until we buy a new house!!

So glad my T-Man is home. I missed him dearly. Now...back in the grind tomorrow...back to school...not wanting to do homework....getting up early.....Oh....the things teenagers love MOST...yeah...NOT SO MUCH:-)

Weekly Goals:-)

I have set myself 10 goals for this week....Gonna take this a week at a time:-) I always have some goals for myself.....but I thought maybe trying goals that are closer to reach...maybe it would be a little easier...or maybe I would feel like I actually accomplished something! Next week I will come back and re-post what I did and didn't do...Hopefully I will be able to say I did all of it! Like I said...one week at a time. I will set myself a few goals that will be really easy for me....as the weeks move on I will make some of them harder....We will see how this goes.

Happy New Year's 2010 is HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We brought in the New Year with Joel's brother Josh and his wife Jami...and lots of their friends! They had a great party at their house. We all had a great time! After driving back home this morning...I put the black eyed peas on the crock pot....took down all of the Christmas decorations....then made our New Years Dinner. I made grilled chicken (marinated in orange juice...lemon juice...garlic powder and season all), roasted potatoes with cheese and chives...black eyed peas (OF COURSE) and a nice salad. Dinner was delicious! It's a little chilly outside so we decided to start a fire. I think Joel was surprised when he came out to the back yard and I already had a nice fire going. I am from the country you know....I do know how to light a fire:-) We cooked up some totally yummy smores for dessert. What a great day. Only thing missing what T-Man. He is still in Utah having a wonderful time. I can't wait for him to get home!!!! Just a few more days and he will be back:-) YAY! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's. 2010 is going to be a great one!! I am looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After all of the black eyed peas I ate tonight...it darn well better be LOL!
