Lucky's Lady by: Tami Hoag

This is what I am reading:

Lucky's Lady
So far so good!!!

When Serena Sheridan, returns to her ancestral home for a break from her psychiatric practice in Charleston, South Carolina, she is faced with an unforseen problem. Her grandfather has left his home and moved into the Louisiana bayou, where he keeps a shack for fishing and hunting.
He seems to be unable to handle the financial problems surrounding his home and business and the prospect of selling it to a large chemical company who wishes to build a plant on the property. Of course her sister, wishes for him to sell, so that she can get the money to help advance her husband's political dreams.
Serena must venture into the bayou and the only person who can get her there is a shady character named Lucky Doucet. Lucky has a bad reputation and no one seems to know much about him, except that he lives in the Bayou and is feared by the locals.

It's such a good time. We all enjoy catching up on our lives....and enjoying each others company...and of course...watching the kids grow up!! This month we had supper at Mom & Peter's home. Britney decided to bring a package of fake mustaches. Who would have thought we would have so much fun with them...lol! Weekly Menu 4/16/12

So...I love my new (bigger) apartment...too bad the kitchen is still the same size:-( This girl likes to cook! I need a bigger kitchen! That will be on my "must have" list when Joel and I buy a home...down the road a bit. Nothing beats eating supper as a family at home every evening. With all of the craziness that has been going on around here we have lost touch with that. It feels good to get back on track!

Monday: Mexican Casserole (with all of the left overs from Sat supper - Chicken tacos)

Tuesday: Grilled Cheese - White beans/ham

Wednesday: Orange Chicken with rice and egg rolls - NEW RECIPE

Thursday: Quesadillas

Friday: Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo - Bread - Salad

Sat: Sheppards Pie

Weekly Goals: 4/15/12

Looking forward to getting back into my routine. Things have been kid of crazy in my life the past few months and I haven't been on a routine. Honestly, I have been super stressed. Marriage is tough at times....and it's put Joel and I through the ringer....but we made it...and I am looking forward to a better future!
One thing I use to do weekly is write myself goals. It seems silly...but it helps me...and I enjoy it! I am going to start back slow cause I have a lot going on this week...but hope to pick back up pace within a few weeks.

1. Workout 3 times this week
2. Portion control
3. Lots of water
4. Vitamins
5. Finish unpacking boxes and get the house organized before family supper this Sunday.

April Date Night

Joel and I are doing "date night" again. After going through some ups and downs...and now being back on track, we realize how important "date nights" are.
This one actually ended up more like a "date weekend"...but hey, whatever works right? We had an awesome time!!!!!

Friday night:
Fort Worth Food Park: I heard about this place on the radio and thought it looked pretty cool so we decided to check it out. The weather was PERFECT!! Really cool place....will be back for sure!
http://fwfoodpark.com/

I am ready:-)

On our way to Fort Worth!
Fort Worth Food Park
Joel got a BLT and I tried the spicy pork tacos...it was all delicious!!! We also met some super cool people and ended up chatting with them for a while. They gave us some new ideas of other cool places to check out in the area:-)
Saturday we spent the day together at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival...again...the weather ROCKED!!
We tried these chocolate dipped dessert thingies...strawberries and cheesecake. They weren't very good...and I had a homeless lady ask if she could have one of my strawberries. Of course...I said yes...then she yanked one off the end...
While relaxing and enjoying some music at the festival..we ended up winning tickets to get see the band that evening at The House of Blues. We didn't go....by that time we were worn out:-) We are getting old!
We had heard about this burger place called The Twisted Root Burger. It was on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Since there is one in Deep Ellum we decided to stop in for lunch:-) I got the Frito Bandito burger which has chili, cheese, quac and fritos on it. It was SOOOO GOOOD!!! Oh...and just FYI. They make their own pickles...and the bread and butter pickles are to die for!!! I could eat the whole freakin' jar!! Joel hates pickles...but he likes those!!

What a great day! On our way home we swung by farmers market to get some fresh fruit. Love this place!
What a great few days with my hubby! Looking forward to next months "date night"
